Dr. Westby received his BA degree from Duke University in 1971 and MD degree from Duke Medical School in 1975. He trained in Internal Medicine at the UCLA-Sepulveda VA program in Los Angeles and at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He has worked most of his career with the Indian Health Service. He worked with the Pima Indians in Arizona, spent seven years as a general medical officer on the Navajo Reservation, and came to the Alaska Native Medical Center in 1989. Since then, he has been a staff internist and for ten years managed the care of all HIV patients at ANMC. Dr. Westby has traveled the world extensively, enjoys many outdoors activities, and spends lots of time in his apple orchard when not working in clinical medicine. |
